After graduating from high school, Eddie (26) used his winnings as a Siemens Westinghouse National Finalist to spend a year traveling around the world. He started Celestial Press (www.celestialpress.com) as a university student which served as the inspiration for LexDex. He currently uses LexDex to practice his Chinese, Korean and Spanish. Eddie has also co-founded Tangential Consulting Shanghai Ltd., the former Lucky Greens Mini Golf, the NextStep networking group (www.nextstepshanghai.com) and the NextStep Directory (www.nextstepdirectory.com). Eddie studied music as an undergrad at the University of Virginia.
Dave (25) claims he used LexDex to memorize the capital of every country in the world. If you ever run into him on the street, put him to the test. He is also an aviation enthusiast and licensed pilot. Before co-founding LexDex, Dave led the development of the operations and management systems for Shanghai Bristol Associates Ltd., a USD $200 million textile wholesaler. He has conducted field research on the Chinese automotive sector with an industry expert, and more recently helped Shanghai Bristol Associates to develop new manufacturing and retail markets. David is a student of Spanish, Chinese, KiSwahili and holds a degree in Foreign Affairs from Miami University (Ohio).
David (26) has as worldly a background as they come. He grew up in several countries throughout Africa, then France, then the US and after a few years in Hong Kong found his place in Shanghai. David is also a seasoned entrepreneur having founded Davyin Internet Solutions (www.davyin.com). He speaks English, French, Hebrew and Chinese. David has a Bachelors in Computer Science from the National Polytechnic Institute in France and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Hong Kong.
Milo (27) is preparing for his solo sail around the world. Until then he is the innovative mind behind LexDex Mobile. Born and bred in Shanghai, Milo started as a systems administrator then a Sales Representative for Oracle. It was not long before he realized he wanted a great deal more and co-founded DavYin Internet Solutions (www.davyin.com), specializing in mobile device development. Milo speaks English, Chinese and is currently studying French. He dropped out from one of the best universities in China (Jiaotong University) while pursuing a degree in Computer Science.
Chris (26) is very proud of the fact that he was once featured on the homepage of LexDex, unfortunately for him, no one else was so we took it down.. Back in 2005, he backpacked around southeast Asia for a summer with Eddie and Kent where they brainstormed the ideas for Celestial Press and what would become LexDex. Chris has worked on traditional media campaigns for companies and organizations such as the F.B.I., but found a true calling in social media and advertising. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a major in Psychology and two minors in Advertising and Business.
Lansen (26) is originally from Jilin and made his way to the big city of Shanghai with nothing in his pockets but the desire to be a part of something big. He was recruited to the LexDex team for his experience with data systems and continues to manage our data entry team, but Lansen is also responsible for pioneering and conceptualizing LexDex China. With his background as an English teacher coupled with a strong programming team, Lansen intends to do nothing short of redefining English learning. He has a bachelors in English and International Trade from Jilin Hua Qiao Institute.
Stephen is a really humble guy (23) so we’ll brag for him. The kid is a freakin genius. He sits at his desk everyday and does whatever it is that geniuses do. He also uses his brain power to program anything and everything. Stephen graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Normal University.
Kent (25) is a co-founder of Celestial Press and LexDex. His past experiences, which include jobs in real estate development, economic consulting, and financial services, give him a broad and distinctive business perspective. In addition to his role at LexDex, he currently splits time as a portfolio management analyst at a California-based hedge fund. Kent played varsity baseball and graduated with Distinction in Economics from the University of Virginia.
